During wedding season, I always get a backlog of weddings that I don’t get around to blog about. Usually, I can blog a little in between and also show some of my work on my socials (mostly Instagram, so make sure to follow me by clicking here). But this gorgeous wedding somehow got lost and I simply forgot I hadn’t posted it yet. So today, on their one-year anniversary, you get to read about the amazing day that was Arbiesa and Valon’s wedding.

We started the day at angelfood Zollikon, where the civil wedding ceremony was held. By stepping into the room it was clear that the couple had great taste and paid lots of attention to detail: Everything from the incredibly gorgeous cake by Cake Passion to the favors for the guests fit together perfectly. Beforehand, Arbiesa had informed me that she had prepared a present for her husband-to-be and asked me to capture his emotions while he unwrapped all the little lovenotes and thoughtful small presents she had put together. It was a wonderful moment to witness and really showed the love both have for each other.

The small civil ceremony was followed by an amazing reception with beautifully arranged and super-tasty food. The atmosphere was so relaxed and there was lots auf laughter and joy. I really liked how some of their family had put together a wedding magazine for the couple. When they handed it over to Arbiesa and Valon as a surprise, the couple’s reaction showed how much the present was appreciated.

After having toasted to the newlyweds, Arbiesa and Valon brought their closest family to the Park Hotel Vitznau at Lake Lucerne for a relaxed dinner. I went with them to shoot the couple at this gorgeous location and it was an absolute dream. Arbiesa with her breathtaking gown and her incredible hair (I mean look at it! So gorgeous) looked like a movie-star on set. Queue Valon and you’ve got a perfect fit.

It was a beautiful wedding day with some really great people. That’s what I like about intimate weddings: You get to talk to the families and friends and get to know the couple better, too. While big weddings have their upsides too, I really appreciate capturing a wedding with only a handful of guests. Especially if they make you feel like a part of the family, like Arbiesa and Valons guests did.
